Cockpit Cam

There is no info on YouTube about this video, but I am guessing that it was taken at the Harry Wood Memorial Regatta at Balboa Yacht Club on April 29, 2012. (Someone please correct me if I am wrong.) Sailing are Paul Makielski and Nell Fernando. Good fun. Until next, sweet sailing.

Unfortunately, I can't watch the video in this country, according to WMG. But it's nice to have you back! Next video hopefully will come from your cockpit.

Hey Baydog. That is odd. Must be the music used. Sorry about that.

Thanks. I hope I can post something soon.

Yeah, I'm disappointed, too. I would have enjoyed revisiting Newport Beach for a few minutes.

Many sailing videos are ruined, IMO, by the unnecessary music imposed over the sounds of boats, winds, waters and crews.

Indeed. I use music in videos myself most of the time since the wind over the camera results in a lot noise. But depending on one's tastes a lot of music can sound like noise (most rock does to me).

Video and rock'n'roll music works fine here in Nakayama, Saitama. That is a lot of hard work with the ropes ("lines"?) and I'm guessing I would be in the deep sea, not so good at all this coming about, hoping the wind will be kind to us ;)

Martin - Part of it is technique - Kimie tries to keep the jib sheet (line) draped onto the floor out of the way as opposed to bunched up in her hands or piled on the floor, so that she won't get tangled or trip or step on it when we come about. But far be if from me to critique people who actually race.

Don't get me wrong, it has been a lot of fun each time! Thanks for introducing me to sailing. And the Lido seems really ideal for enjoying the waves.
