Rhoda Scott was born in Dorothy, New Jersey and learned to play organ from an early age in the churches where her father, an AME minister, served. She attended Manhattan School of Music in New York. Since 1967 she has lived in France.
To hear her live this month, you'll need to be in Unterengstringen, Switzerland on June 7th or Chancelade, France on the 14th. She'll be in Moscow for 10 days in July with the Mriinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra.
What will she play? Who knows? She never prepares a program and chooses based on her intuition, venue, the times, and audience.
Until next, sweet sailing.
